Schoellhorn-Albrecht Builds New Double Anchor Windlass

 

 

Schoellhorn-Albrecht recently delivered a new Double Horizontal Anchor Windlass for a fisheries research vessel operated by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).

The new Anchor Windlass replaces an existing unit and had to be designed to be a drop in replacement.  The Schoellhorn-Albrecht Windlass was designed to fit into an existing footprint and bolt hole pattern. 

The Anchor Windlass was designed to meet ABS requirements for 36 mm chain and features a 50 HP marine duty electric motor and brake. The new unit will generate 35,000 lbs. of continuous running pull at 30 FPM.
